Selfoss, Dettifoss & Hafragilsfoss - One hike, 3 epic waterfalls

Intro

While driving the ring road between Egilsstaðir and lake Mývatn it is definitely worth doing the detour to this hike. These 3 waterfalls are magnificent to see, not only the cheer volume is impressive, but water falls down from so many angles that these falls will surely leave you in awe.

About the trail

You will start your hike Dettifoss Parking West. If you're driving the ring road (R0), this is a small detour on the stretch between Egilsstaðir and lake Mývatn. Make sure you take the right exit as you might end up on a parking on the wrong side of the river otherwise.

A lot of people will come here to check out Selfoss & Dettifoss, therefore expect the first part of this hike to be busy. The last part is a lot calmer and even a little adventurous as you'll have to do a short scramble up a hill.
