Grande-Terre might be a lot more populated then Basse-Terre, but there are still amazing places for hikers looking to get out into nature. The most eastern part of the island -Pointe des chateaux- will give you a good mix of tidal lakes, rugged coastline and coastal forest.
About the trail
While driving on the Route de la Pointe des Châteaux you'll notice there's space for parking all along the length of the route. You'll be able to get on the trail from there.
The route on the map will take you to most viewpoints in the area. However, I think this is a place where you can adapt as you feel necessary. Just roam around and check out the places that seem cool to you.
