This hike might be one of the best introductions to hiking in the jungle when arriving to Guadeloupe. With it's 6km it isn't that long of a hike but you'll get a good feel for how difficult or easy it is to hike in de Guadeloupian rain forest. On top of that it's a great first introduction with this islands beautiful jungle. Along the way you'll have to cross a river. The crossing isn't that hard and because of the climate you propably won't mind getting your feet wet. Feel free to take your swimming gear with you so you can cool off a bit in the water.
About the trail
There is a small parking at the end of the road (Route forestière de la chutes moreau). This hike is quite popular so consider coming early to ensure having a spot.
The hike starts out on broad forest road which will quickly turn into a smaller track. On paper the track looks quite easy (not long, not a lote of altitude) but don't underestimate it. The climbs aren't long but they are steep and slippery, so take decent walking shoes. When it rained a lot, this trail might not be accesible.
You can follow the trail until reaching the Moreau waterfall, turn back and follow the same track back to the parking.
